The title of the graph is “Observed life satisfaction among immigrants to Canada and source-country population

This is a scatter plot.

The vertical axis is the observed mean life satisfaction score for immigrants to Canada who arrived within the last 20 years by source country.

The horizontal axis is the observed mean life satisfaction score for the population in the source country.

Description: The data for the immigrant groups in Canada are based on pooled data from Statistics Canada’s General Social Survey, 2008 to 2011, and the Canadian Community Health Survey, 2009 to 2011. The data for the source-country populations are based on the World Values Survey, Waves 3 to 5. The results represent 58 source countries. This chart shows that when the sample is extended to include immigrants who have arrived in Canada during the last 20 years, most immigrant groups in Canada continue to have higher levels of life satisfaction than their source-country populations.
