To facilitate the mobility of tradespeople, the Canadian government, in partnership with the Canadian Council of Directors of Apprenticeship (CCDA), which is made up of representatives of each province and territory, manages the Red Seal Interprovincial Standards Program. This program enables tradespeople who meet Red Seal interprovincial standards to work in any of the provinces and territories that recognize the trades covered by those standards, without having to undergo new examinations. In 2007, 49 trades were included in this program; this number increased to 53 in 2010.
