1. Certain jurisdictions include all students whether or not they are funded, while others include only funded students.
2. Includes enrolments in vocational programs for youth and adults.

4. Excludes publicly funded hospital and provincial schools, care, treatment and correctional facilities.
5. Until 2000/2001, includes enrolments in adult programs and professional training under the authority of the school boards or districts.
6. Includes enrolments in adult programs.
7. Nunavut was created on April 1, 1999. Prior to that date, data for Nunavut were included with data for the Northwest Territories. This creates a break in series for the Northwest Territories in 1999/2000. As a result, the overall percentage change is calculated for the period 1999/2000 to 2005/2006 for the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
Notes: Due to the nature of ESESP data collection, these data are updated on an ongoing basis and are therefore subject to further revisions. The data presented in this table were updated as of March 10, 2008. These data are for public schools only and do not include private schools, federal schools and schools for the visually and hearing impaired.
