1. Excludes the territories. Detailed data by sex and age are not available for the territories.
2. Data for Nova Scotia combine full-time and part-time educators.
3. Data exclude publicly funded hospital and provincial schools, care, treatment and correctional facilities.
4. Includes educators in provincially funded schools (including "associated independent" and "historic" high schools) and excluding "independent" First Nations schools and postsecondary sites.
5. All educators in Lloydminster are included in Saskatchewan's counts and none of them are captured in the counts for Alberta.
6. Alberta data prior to 2004/2005 may not be fully comparable with more recent data due to changes in data capture systems.

Notes: Figures may not add up to totals because of rounding. Due to the nature of Elementary-Secondary Education Statistics Project (ESESP) data collection, these data are updated on an ongoing basis and are therefore subject to further revisions. Educators include teachers, school administrators and pedagogical support. These data are for public schools only and do not include private schools and federal schools.
