This is a line chart that illustrates the age-standardized percentage of males and females aged 12 or older who reported excellent or very good mental health from 2003 to 2008.

The Y axis is measured by percentages and increases by increments of 5 from 50 to 80.

On the X axis from left to right are the years 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2008.

The top line represents the males and the bottom line represents females who reported excellent or very good mental health.

The age–standardized percentage of males aged 12 or older who reported excellent or very good mental health increased from 73.8% in 2003 to 75.1% in 2005 and to 75.7% in 2007.  It remained at 75.7% in 2008.

The age–standardized percentage of females who reported excellent or very good mental health increased from 73.8% in 2003 to 74.3% in 2005 and to 74.5% in 2007  It decreased to 74.0% in 2008.

The age–standardized percentage of males aged 12 or older who reported excellent or very good mental health in 2005 is the only estimate that is significantly different from the previous time period at p<0.05. 

The data have been age-standardized to the 1991 Canadian population.
