This vertical bar chart illustrates the smoking rates of female Canadians aged
12 and over, by age group for 2001 and 2011.
The Y axis is measured in percentages and increases by increments of 5 from
0 to 40.
Along the X axis are categories of age groups. From left to right, the total
of all age groups; 12 to 14; 15 to 17; 18 to 19; 20 to 34; 35 to 44; 45 to 54;
55 to 64; and 65 or older. Each age group shows two vertical bars; one for 2001
and one for 2011.
Of female Canadians aged 12 and older, 23.8% were current smokers in 2001 and
17.5% were current smokers in 2011.
Of female Canadians aged 12 to 14, 7.0% were current smokers in 2001 and 2.8%
were current smokers in 2011.
Of female Canadians aged 15 to 17, 22.3% were current smokers in 2001 and 8.7%
were current smokers in 2011.
Of female Canadians aged 18 to 19, 34.2% were current smokers in 2001 and 18.5%
were current smokers in 2011.
Of female Canadians aged 20 to 34, 29.6% were current smokers in 2011 and 23.2%
were current smokers in 2011.
Of female Canadians aged 35 to 44, 29.3% were current smokers in 2001 and 19.8%
were current smokers in 2011.
Of female Canadians aged 45 to 54, 25.7% were current smokers in 2001 and 22.2%
were current smokers in 2011.
Of female Canadians aged 55 to 64, 20.4% were current smokers in 2001 and 16.5%
were current smokers in 2011.
Of female Canadians aged 65 or older, 11.2% were current smokers in 2011 and
9.3% were current smokers in 2011.
