This vertical bar chart illustrates the percentage of Canadians who reported being satisfied or very satisfied with their life by age group and sex in 2009.

The y-axis is measured by percentages and increases by increments of five from 75 to 100.

Along the x-axis are the age groups. From left to right, the age groups are: All ages; 12 to 19; 20 to 34; 35 to 44; 45 to 54; 55 to 64; and 65 and older. Each age category shows two vertical bars; one for males and one for females.

Of Canadians all ages, 92.2% of males, and 92.0% of females reported being satisfied or very satisfied with their life.

Of Canadians aged 12 to 19, 97.7% of males, and 94.9% of females reported being satisfied or very satisfied with their life.

Of Canadians aged 20 to 34, 94.1% of males, and 94.8% of females reported being satisfied or very satisfied with their life.

Of Canadians aged 35 to 44, 92.3% of males, and 91.5% of females reported being satisfied or very satisfied with their life.

Of Canadians aged 45 to 54, 89.6% of males, and 90.9% of females reported being satisfied or very satisfied with their life.

Of Canadians aged 55 to 64, 90.9% of males, and 91.1% of females reported being satisfied or very satisfied with their life.

Of Canadians aged 65 and older, 88.5% of males, and 88.5% of females reported being satisfied or very satisfied with their life.
