This vertical bar chart illustrates the percentage of Canadians who always wore a bicycle helmet when bicycling in 2009.

The y-axis is measured by percentages and increases by increments of five from 0 to 50.

Along the x-axis are the age groups. From left to right, the age groups are: All ages; 12 to 19; 20 to 34; 35 to 44; 45 to 64; and 65 and older. Each age category shows two vertical bars; one for men and one for women.

Of Canadians all ages, 33.8% of males and 40.2% of females always wore a bicycle helmet.

Of Canadians aged 12 to 19, 28.4% of males, and 33.3% of females always wore a bicycle helmet.

Of Canadians aged 20 to 34, 24.2% of males, and 38.3% of females always wore a bicycle helmet.

Of Canadians aged 35 to 44, 38.8% of males, and 42.7% of females always wore a bicycle helmet.

Of Canadians aged 45 to 64, 41.4% of males, and 46.2% of females always wore a bicycle helmet.

Of Canadians aged 65 and older, 41.3% of males, and 39.6% of females always wore a bicycle helmet.
