This vertical bar chart illustrates the percentage of Canadians diagnosed with diabetes by age group and sex in Canada in 2011.

The y-axis is measured by percentages and increases by increments of five from 0 to 25.

Along the x-axis are the age groups. From left to right, the age groups are: Total; 12 to 34; 35 to 44; 45 to 54; 55 to 64; 65 to 74; and 75 or older. Each age category shows two vertical bars; one for males and one for females.

Of Canadians all ages, 6.7% of males, and 5.6% of females were diagnosed with diabetes.

Of Canadians aged 12 to 34, 0.6% of males, and 1.0% of females were diagnosed with diabetes.

Of Canadians aged 35 to 44, 3.4%E of males, and 2.8%E of females were diagnosed with diabetes.

Of Canadians aged 45 to 54, 5.1% of males, and 5.2% of females were diagnosed with diabetes.

Of Canadians aged 55 to 64, 13.2% of males, and 9.6% of females were diagnosed with diabetes.

Of Canadians aged 65 to 74, 20.2% of males, and 13.6% of females were diagnosed with diabetes.

Of Canadians aged 75 or older, 21.1% of males, and 15.3% of females were diagnosed with diabetes.
