On this map the different colours are used to indicate which provinces or territories have a prevalence of obesity significantly different from the national average. Category 1 is coloured green and represents provinces or territories that have obesity prevalences significantly lower than the national prevalence. Category 2 is coloured yellow and represents the provinces or territories that have a prevalence of obesity not significantly different from the national prevalence. Category 3 is coloured orange and represents the provinces or territories that have a prevalence of obesity significantly higher than the national prevalence.
The national average is 20.2%.
Quebec and British Columbia have obesity rates significantly lower than the national average.
Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and the Northwest Territories have obesity rates significantly higher than the national average.
