Principal characteristic of predominant group of residents and size of facility.

Due to administrative changes in Quebec in 2004/2005 (creation of "Centres de santé et de services sociaux"), data for this year are not comparable to data for previous years. Furthermore, because of improvements in the estimation methods for Quebec for 2005/2006, data for this year should not be compared with data from previous years.

"Beds staffed and in operation" refers to the number of beds that are either occupied or available for new resident admissions on the last day of the reference period.
4.
Data for "Other" residential care facilities in Quebec likely include some non-residential care activity. Caution should be exercised in using this data.
