Introduction to statistical tables

These tables provide financial data on cultural activities funded by all levels of government. Included are expenditures on libraries, heritage resources, performing arts, literary arts, visual arts and crafts, broadcasting, film and video, etc. Data are available by level of government, province/territory and type of expenditure (operating expenditures, capital expenditures, operating and capital grants and contributions).
As a result of changes in methodology, the revised 2003/2004 data and data for 2004/2005, 2005/2006, 2006/2007 and 2007/2008 should not be compared with those that were released prior to the revised 2003/2004 data.
