Labour Markets, Business Activity, and Population Growth and Mobility in Canadian Census Metropolitan Areas

Much is known about how the Canada 's economic landscape has developed over the past two decades, however, national and city trends do not always run in parallel. Accordingly, this report delves below the national picture to focus on developments in Census Metropolitan Areas. It examines three major aspects of economic conditions: The labour market, business activity, and population growth and mobility. The objective is to document major trends at the local level to shed light on changes in the city's economic landscape.

This report is the sixth report in a series, Trends and Conditions in CMAs, that develops statistical measures that shed light upon issues of importance for Canada 's largest cities.
