This is a vertical bar graph that illustrates the proportion of children aged 5 to 14 with disabilities not receiving needed special education, by province and territories, in 2006. The national rate is also included.

The Y axis is measured by percentages and increases by increments of ten from 0 up to 40.

The X axis is comprised of the ten provinces.  On the X axis from left to right, the ten provinces are Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia and the territories.

The section representing 'not requiring but receiving special education' is a very small section; it has a value of 3.9%.

The rate of children with disabilities not receiving needed special education in Newfoundland is 11.6%.

The rate of children with disabilities not receiving needed special education in Prince Edward Island is 19.4E%.

The rate of children with disabilities not receiving needed special education in Nova Scotia is 22.3%.

The rate of children with disabilities not receiving needed special education in New Brunswick is 23.6%.

The rate of children with disabilities not receiving needed special education in Quebec is 34.0%.

The rate of children with disabilities not receiving needed special education in Ontario is 23.9%.

The rate of children with disabilities not receiving needed special education in Manitoba is 18.8%.

The rate of children with disabilities not receiving needed special education in Saskatchewan is 15.6%.

The rate of children with disabilities not receiving needed special education in Alberta is 18.3%.

The rate of children with disabilities not receiving needed special education in British Columbia is 25.2%.

Lastly, the rate of children with disabilities not receiving needed special education in the combined territories is 25.2%.

These provincial rates are put into context with the help of a cross-cutting line representing the Canadian rate of children with disabilities not receiving needed special education, which is 24.3%.
