This is a vertically stacked bar graph that illustrates the proportion of men and women with at least one close friend by age in 1990 and 2006.

The Y axis is measured by percentages and increases by increments of ten from 0 up to 100.

On the X axis from left to right the population is disaggregated into the following five age groups: 15 to 24, 25 to 44, 45 to 64 , 64 to 74 and 75 and older. Each group includes data for two years: 1990 and 2006.

Each bar represents the total percentage of people reporting they had at least one close friend in the respective years.

The data points (%) from left to right are 97.6 and 98.9 for men aged 15 to 24 in 1990 and 2006 respectively, 98.6 and 98.9 for women aged 15 to 24; 95.7 and 95.6 for men aged 25 to 44; 95.6 and 96.2 for women aged 25 to 44; 89.3 and 91.2 for men aged 45 to 64; 91.1 and 93.9 for women aged 45 to 64; 84 and 86 for men aged 65 to 74; and 86 and 90 for women aged 65 to 74 ; 74 and 82 For senior men aged 75 and older and 81 and 82 for senior women aged 75 and older.
