This figure shows the proportion of the population in Canada that was divorced or separated by age group and sex beginning with 15 to 19 and ending with 90 and over for each census year from 1981 to 2011. This figure also contains dashed lines which approximate the birth cohorts beginning with those born between 1922 and 1926 to those born between 1952 and 1956. For simplicity, not all birth cohorts are shown on the figure.
