The Real Time Remote Access (RTRA) system

Welcome to the RTRA system, enabling fast access to Statistics Canada microdata. For more information regarding the RTRA including contact information, contract management, system maintenance and the Statistics Canada mandate.

Statistics Canada has implemented an Electronic File Transfer (EFT) service (available on the Internet only) to enable organizations outside of Statistics Canada to exchange electronic files in a secure manner using the Internet. The RTRA makes use of this application to receive and disseminate files to external users. Login to RTRA and submit programs.

New developments with the RTRA

New statistics:

A full range of descriptive statistics is now available through the Real Time Remote Access tool. RTRA users can calculate frequencies, means, medians, percentiles, proportions, ratios, and shares. For more information on descriptive statistics please see Preparing a program.

New datasets:

The Canadian Community Health Survey 2003 (CCHS), Canadian Community Health Survey 2005 (CCHS), Survey of Young Canadians 2010 (SYC) and General Social Survey (GSS) cycles 25 and 26 are now available.
