Building permit values in Canada up 11.3% compared with February. Newfoundland and Labrador down 28.8%, Prince Edward Island up 84.0%, Nova Scotia up 6.1%, New Brunswick up 9.6%, Quebec up 19.9%, Ontario up 2.9%, Manitoba down 7.2%, Saskatchewan up 15.4%, Alberta down 0.3%, British Columbia up 36.6%, Yukon down 5.3%, Northwest Territories up 1,888.2%, Nunavut: not applicable.

Residential: The total value was down 0.9% month over month.

Non-residential: The total value was up 32.0% month over month.

Multi-family dwellings: total value was $4,047 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 1.5% or $58.0 million.

Industrial: total value was $1,288 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 16.7% or $184.7 million.

Commercial: total value was $2,821 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 41.5% or $827.4 million.

Institutional: total value was $1,071 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 29.5% or $244.1 million.
