Contribute to the improvement of Statistics Canada's disability measurements

Current status: open

Consultation period: October 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027

Statistics Canada is reviewing its approach to producing disability statistics to ensure it continues to meet the evolving needs of Canadians, policymakers, researchers, and the disability community. As understandings of disability continue to evolve, Statistics Canada is seeking input from data users, subject matter experts, and persons with lived experience to assess whether the current approach remains relevant, inclusive, and responsive to emerging information needs.

Through this engagement, Statistics Canada wants to better understand user needs and perspectives on disability measurement. Feedback will help inform future improvements to disability data collection and support the production of high-quality, inclusive and meaningful disability statistics for Canadians.
