Statistics Canada is exploring opportunities to enhance users' abilities to search for its data and data products, including through the potential use of AI technologies. To better understand the current challenges of searching for and accessing relevant data and data products, User Experience (UX) researchers at Statistics Canada conducted public consultation activities to help inform opportunities for potential improvements.
The primary objectives of this engagement were to:
- Understand how users utilize external browsers and AI tools to search for Statistics Canada data and data products
- Identify how AI tools are impacting the ways in which users are searching for Statistics Canada data and data products
- Explore users' flows in searching for Statistics Canada data and data products from external browsers and AI tools through to the StatCan website
Who was the focus of this consultation
This consultation focuses on individuals who have used external browsers, search engines, or AI tools to search for Statistics Canada data and data products, and who are interested in providing feedback on their experience.
