The Market Basket Measure - Canada's Official Poverty Line

The Government of Canada’s first-ever national poverty reduction strategy aims to reduce our country’s poverty rate from 20% by 2020 and 50% by 2030. To do so, the Government of Canada has announced that Statistics Canada’s Market Basket Measure (MBM) will be used as Canada’s Official Poverty Line.
