Presentations:
Presenters in invited sessions (sessions A) are allowed twenty-five minutes for their presentations and a period of fifteen minutes is allowed for questions and discussion at the end of the session.
Presenters in contributed sessions (sessions B) are allowed fifteen minutes for their presentations and a period of fifteen minutes is allowed for questions and discussion at the end of the session.
Presenters in plenary sessions (sessions 1, 5 and 10) are allowed fifty minutes for their presentations and a period of ten minutes is allowed for questions and discussion at the end of the session.
To facilitate translation of your materials, we request that you e-mail a copy of the final version of your slides to statcan.symposium2016-symposium2016.statcan@statcan.gc.ca no later than January 22, 2016.
We strongly recommend that you submit a Microsoft PowerPoint version of your presentation. Please verify with us in advance if you would like to use any other software. PowerPoint is preferred in order to produce a translated version with the same appearance as the original, especially when the presentation includes tables, graphics or equations. We also ask that you avoid any PowerPoint animation. During translation, the hidden animation control code can sometimes be accidentally deleted, resulting in translated presentations that are out of synch. Please use at least a 24-point font that can easily be read from a distance and that is part of the standard Microsoft suite of fonts. The bilingual presentations will be loaded onto Statistics Canada's laptops. If we do not have the font that you use, we will not be able to show your presentation.
Registration:
As a presenter, you must register for the conference by clicking here. The deadline is March 7, 2016 (or February 19, 2016 for the early bird registration).
Proceedings manuscripts:
Proceedings of the conference will be eventually published on our website.
For the presenters from invited sessions (sessions A), the manuscript must not exceed eight pages in length.
For the presenters from contributed sessions (sessions B), the manuscript must not exceed six pages in length.
For the presenters from plenary sessions (sessions 1, 5 and 10), the manuscript must not exceed twelve pages in length.
The number of pages includes references and appendices.
