The Statistics Canada Library houses a comprehensive repository of publications produced by Statistics Canada and its predecessor organizations. This includes a collection of historical material dating back to 1841 that provides information on topics such as the census, foreign trade and industrial production. Researchers interested in our historical collection are encouraged to access the Historical Resources InfoGuide.
The Library also has a collection of externally published resources on statistical methodology, sociology, economics, industry, trade and other subjects of current and former interest to Statistics Canada.
To search the collection, visit the Library Catalogue. Other libraries can download the Library’s Machine-Readable Cataloguing (MARC) records and may request to borrow items on behalf of their clients through an interlibrary loan.
The Library is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday
Note: External visitors must contact the Library to request an appointment before visiting.
