The current COVID-19 situation has forced organizations such as Statistics Canada to review operations, with the primary objective being the health and safety of employees and Canadians.
Your national statistical agency responded to this challenge in a very short timeframe by setting up the necessary infrastructure for its dedicated employees to collect information vital to the economy and society—remotely and safely. Statistics Canada employees are working hard to support critical government operations with data, analytics and methodological expertise.
That said, the health and well-being of Canadians and our employees is of paramount importance and as such Statistics Canada will be conducting surveys for Statistics Canada's critical programs only by telephone and online.
To maintain the confidence of telephone and online survey respondents, the agency makes it easy for Canadians to validate the legitimacy of the survey and interviewers.
