Survey purpose

Survey purpose - The purpose of this survey is to obtain information on quantities of tobacco products that are produced and sold by Canadian manufacturers. Data collected by this survey provide an indicator of the economic condition of the producing industry and can serve as input to study market share and industry trends. Your information may also be used by Statistics Canada for other statistical and research purposes.

Data-Sharing agreements - To reduce respondent burden, Statistics Canada has entered into data-sharing agreements with provincial and territorial statistical agencies and other government organizations which must keep the data confidential and use them only for statistical purposes. The details of these agreements as well as information on record linkages were provided to you in the form of a letter with the January mail out.
