Canadian manufacturers produced 1.2 billion cigarettes in May 2024, down 2.7% from April 2024. Cigarette production was 2.2% higher compared with May 2023.
In May 2024, the total number of cigarettes sold decreased 7.7% to 1.2 billion from April 2024. The level of sales was 13.6% lower compared with May 2023.
