Monthly Survey of Manufacturing: Advance indicator, July 2025

Statistics Canada is providing an advance estimate of sales in the manufacturing sector for July. Advance results indicate that total manufacturing sales increased 1.8% in July. The largest increases were in the transportation equipment as well as petroleum and coal product subsectors.

This estimate was calculated based on a weighted response rate of 70.0%. The average final response rate for the survey over the previous 12 months has been 93.4%. As Statistics Canada continues to collect data for the July reference month, this early indicator is subject to a higher revision rate than our regular monthly release.

Note to readers

The percentage change is calculated using seasonally adjusted data in current dollars.

This advance estimate is a special product published to provide Canadians with timely information on the manufacturing sector. The official estimate of manufacturing sales for the month of July, which will be based on a more complete set of survey and administrative data, is scheduled for release on September 15, 2025.
