Census in Brief: A tale of two renters: Housing affordability among recent and existing renters in Canada

Using data from the 2021 Census of Population, this Census in Brief article focuses on housing affordability for renters who have recently moved. It examines how monthly shelter costs and housing affordability compare between these recent renters and the rest of the renter population, disaggregated by age group, immigrant status, racialized group, poverty status and subsidized housing status.
