Canadian manufacturers produced 1.1 billion cigarettes in September 2023, up 11.4% from August 2023. Cigarette production was 14.6% lower compared with September 2022.
In September 2023, the total number of cigarettes sold decreased 22.5% to 1.1 billion from August 2023. The level of sales was 16.7% lower compared with September 2022.
