Canadian manufacturers produced 1.1 billion cigarettes in October 2023, down 3.4% from September 2023. Cigarette production was 3.1% higher compared with October 2022.
In October 2023, the total number of cigarettes sold increased 15.5% to 1.2 billion from September 2023. The level of sales was 2.1% lower compared with October 2022.
