Canadian manufacturers produced 1.2 billion cigarettes in December 2023, down 8.7% from November 2023. Cigarette production was 52.6% higher compared with December 2022.
In December 2023, the total number of cigarettes sold decreased 14.0% to 1.1 billion from November 2023. The level of sales was 16.7% lower compared with December 2022.
