Canadian National Economic Accounts (NEA)

Canadian Transportation Economic Accounts (CTEA): The CTEA focus specifically on transportation input and outputs. They provide a comprehensive measure of both own-account and for-hire transportation services.

For-hire transportation services: These are transportation services provided on a fee basis by enterprises in transportation industries.

Own-account transportation services (OATS): These are transportation services produced by enterprises in non-transportation industries to support their internal business activities.

Supply and use table (SUT): These represent a detailed snapshot of all economic activity taking place in a geographic region. They are a powerful analytical tool that presents the structure of an economy as well as interlinkages among the various economic actors. SUTs are presented in the form of tables that illustrate the flow of goods and services within the economy from their production or import to intermediate consumption of final use.

Transportation industries: These are industries that have transportation as their primary output.

Transportation-related input (TRI)

Value added: Compensation of employees, other taxes less subsidies on production, gross mixed income and gross operating surplus.
