This vertical bar chart illustrates the percentage of Canadians aged 12 or older who were injured because of a fall by age group and sex in 2009.

The y-axis is measured by percentages and increases by increments of ten from 0 to 80.

Along the x-axis are the age groups. From left to right, the age groups are: All ages; 12 to 19; 20 to 34; 35 to 44; 45 to 64; and 65 and older. Each age category shows two vertical bars; one for males and one for females.

Of Canadians all ages, 36.4% of males and 46.4% of females were injured due to a fall.

Of Canadians aged 12 to 19, 48.1% of males and 51.4% of females were injured due to a fall.

Of Canadians aged 20 to 34, 34.8% of males and 36.6% of females were injured due to a fall.

Of Canadians aged 35 to 44, 25.1% of males and 35.0% of females were injured due to a fall.

Of Canadians aged 45 to 64, 31.7% of males and 43.6% of females were injured due to a fall.

Of Canadians aged 65 and older, 49.3% of males and 73.8% of females were injured due to a fall.
