The Elementary-Secondary Education Survey (ESES) is administered by Statistics Canada and surveys, on an annual basis, every Ministry/Department of Education across Canada. The survey collects school data at the elementary and secondary level that includes enrolment, graduate, educator and expenditure statistics. The main objectives are to collect, analyze and publish relevant, comparable and timely statistics and to reduce the response burden on educational organizations that supply data. The information may also be used by Statistics Canada for other statistical and research purposes.

April 10 to June 19, 2017
Collection methods:
A collection template in Excel, containing multiple tabs, is sent to all respondents using the Electronic File Transfer (EFT) service; respondents return the template to Statistics Canada.
