  1. For the fifth year in a row, the number of aircraft take-offs and landings at Canadian airports with NAV CANADA air traffic control towers and flight service stations decreased slightly compared to the previous year. These 93 airports reported 5.5 million movements in 2013, down 1.8% compared to 2012.
  2. There were 4.0 million itinerant movements (flights from one airport to another) recorded in 2013. These airports handled 1.7% fewer movements (-66,891 movements) in 2013 compared with 2012.
  3. Local movements (flights that remain in the vicinity of the airport) declined 2.3% (-34,459 movements) in 2013 compared with 2012.
