Study: 2021 flash estimates of selected service industries

Today, Statistics Canada publishes a new article entitled "Forging ahead during the pandemic: How selected service industries bounced back in 2021." According to this study, revenues in 2021 surpassed pre-COVID-19 pandemic levels observed in 2019 for most of the analyzed professional and administrative services industries.
However, tourism-related services continued to lag and remained the furthest away from full recovery.
Despite the strong bounce back and several positive developments, businesses operating in the service sector are still contending with risks associated with supply chain disruptions, inflationary price and wage pressures, external geopolitical factors, labour constraints and the easing of government pandemic support programs.
