Production and disposition of tobacco products, January 2024

Canadian manufacturers produced 1.2 billion cigarettes in January 2024, up 5.8% from December 2023. Cigarette production was 9.5% higher compared with January 2023.
In January 2024, the total number of cigarettes sold decreased 13.1% to 928 million from December 2023. The level of sales was 1.1% lower compared with January 2023.
