The Canadian Survey on Disability provides information on Canadians with disabilities for each province and territory by age group and by sex.
According to the 2017 survey, just over one in five Canadians aged 15 years and over, or 6.2 million people, had at least one disability.
The results for 2017 provide a glimpse into the lives of these 6.2 million Canadians—the nature and severity of their disability as well as their employment and income experiences among other characteristics.
For example, did you know that 60% of youth with disabilities had a mental health-related disability?
And, 1.6 million Canadians with disabilities were unable to afford required aids, devices, or prescription medications due to cost.
