The data collected in this quarterly survey are used to produce indexes that measure the change in prices of rental and leasing activities for the commercial and industrial machinery and equipment industry. Businesses use these indexes to gain a better understanding of their industry and assess their own performance. Statistics Canada uses these indexes to estimate inflation-adjusted growth and productivity from this sector of the economy.

Your information may also be used by Statistics Canada for other statistical and research purposes. In addition, information from partially completed or unsaved questionnaires may be retained and used.
