As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, the need for timely data is as important as ever. In this new crowdsourcing initiative, we are seeking your experiences with testing for COVID-19, particularly with using rapid tests. This information will help assess the rate of at-home COVID-19 testing, access to rapid testing kits in Canada and vaccination status.
Your participation is important!
The results will be used by government organizations to evaluate the delivery of health services and supports during the pandemic for each region in Canada. Although voluntary, your participation is important in order to collect information that is as accurate and complete as possible.
Your information may also be used by Statistics Canada for other statistical and research purposes. In addition, information from partially completed or unsaved questionnaires may be retained and used.

Who can participate in the current crowdsource: Testing and Vaccination?
Anybody aged 15 years and older living in Canada can participate. Parents and those living with children are encouraged to participate.
Can I answer the questions by phone?
No. To conduct this data collection series as quickly as possible, we are only collecting information via online questionnaires.
What type of information are you collecting?
We are currently collecting information on Canadians' access to and experiences with COVID-19 testing, as well as information on their vaccination status and their children's access to COVID-19 testing.
What will the information be used for?
This information will be used by government organizations to evaluate the delivery of health services and supports during the pandemic for each region in Canada.
What is the difference between PCR test and rapid test?
There are two common types of COVID-19 tests. The first is a PCR test, often used in health care settings, that is sent to a lab and produces the most accurate result. The second type is a rapid antigen test (RAT), often called a rapid test, which produces a result within minutes.
How long does it take to complete the questionnaire?
It will take approximately five minutes to complete the questionnaire

As with all Statistics Canada surveys, any information you provide will remain confidential pursuant to the Statistics Act. Statistics Canada takes the privacy of Canadians very seriously. When will the data be available?
The data will be released on our website in April, 2022.
