Household borrowing
In February, the total credit liabilities of households grew by $10.1 billion (+0.3%) to reach $2,936.6 billion. Real estate secured debt, composed of both mortgage debt and home equity lines of credit, increased $8.3 billion (+0.4%). Household mortgage debt rose $7.7 billion (+0.4%), the strongest monthly growth since August 2023.
