Travel between Canada and other countries, July 2024

In July, US residents took 3.4 million trips to Canada, and residents of overseas countries took 906,700 trips. The number of non-resident arrivals (US-resident and overseas-resident arrivals combined) in Canada represented 90.4% of the number observed in July 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic.

In July 2024, Canadian residents returned from 4.8 million trips abroad, which represented 92.0% of the level recorded in July 2019.

Using seasonally adjusted data, on a month-to-month basis, there was little change in the number of non-resident arrivals in Canada in July 2024. However, returning Canadian-resident arrivals (+0.7%) posted a slight increase in July compared with the previous month.
