Real gross domestic product (GDP) for the culture and sport sectors in Canada was up 0.6% in the second quarter, slightly above the real GDP growth rate of the total economy (+0.5%). On a nominal basis, GDP for the culture and sport sectors rose 1.6% in the second quarter as prices increased in all culture and sport domains during the quarter.
Jobs attributable to culture and sport edged up 0.3% in the second quarter, bringing total jobs for those sectors to 745,516.
