Today, Statistics Canada in collaboration with Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada is publishing a study titled "Assessing the economic impact of Accelerated Growth Service program participants, 2017 to 2019," which examines the economic impact of the advisory services provided by the Accelerated Growth Service (AGS) to small and medium-sized businesses.
The study analyzed five key measures of business performance, comparing businesses that received AGS services with those that did not, from 2017 to 2019. The findings show that businesses that received AGS services experienced higher growth in revenue, employment, research and development spending, and exports as a percentage of total revenue compared with similar businesses that did not receive support. In summary, the advisory services had a significant effect on various business performance outcomes.
