November is Financial Literacy Month, but money remains a sensitive topic for many Canadians. Discussing personal finances, like debt, with family and friends can be uncomfortable. Feelings of shame, embarrassment or fear of judgment often make these conversations difficult.
Based on the 2023 Survey of Financial Security, this infographic provides an overview of Canadian families’ net worth by province and family type in 2023. It highlights the most common assets and debts that families hold and shows families where they fit in, compared with others in Canada.
