Canadian manufacturers produced 972 million cigarettes in May 2025, down 21.1% from April 2025. Cigarette production was 18.7% lower compared with May 2024.
In May 2025, the total number of cigarettes sold increased 9.2% to 1.1 billion from April 2025. The level of sales was 1.8% lower compared with May 2024.
