New motor vehicle sales, November 2025

In November, 150,832 new motor vehicles were sold in Canada, decreasing 6.6% from November 2024. In dollar terms, sales decreased 9.4% in November 2025 compared with one year earlier. Over the same period, sales of new passenger cars fell by 22.2%, while sales of new trucks saw a smaller decline of 4.5%.

There were 17,059 new zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) sold in November, a decrease of 35.6% from one year earlier. New ZEVs comprised 11.3% of total new motor vehicles sold, compared with 16.4% in November 2024.

Note to readers

The term "zero-emission vehicle" (ZEV) refers to any motor vehicle that has the potential to produce no tailpipe emissions. The ZEV category includes battery electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.
