Canadian System of Environmental–Economic Accounts: Intensities and demand-based measures, 2022

In 2022, the average national direct plus indirect intensity of energy use for the Canadian economy was 3.75 gigajoules of energy per thousand current dollars of output. The corresponding average national direct plus indirect intensity of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions was 0.26 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalents per thousand current dollars of output.
