Canadian manufacturers produced 1.4 billion cigarettes in August 2022, down 7.1% from July 2022. Cigarette production was 45.3% higher compared with August 2021.
The total number of cigarettes sold increased 9.5% to 1.4 billion from July 2022. The level of sales was 2.6% lower compared with August 2021.
