Canadian manufacturers produced 1.5 billion cigarettes in March 2023, up 31.0% from February 2023. Cigarette production was 7.6% lower compared with March 2022.
The total number of cigarettes sold increased 40.6% to 1.4 billion from February 2023. The level of sales was comparable to March 2022.
